This is undoubtedly the most unusual
of our wines. To achieve it there
must be a coming together of elements that are not present every year and that
only the wine-makers and bodega managers are able to identify.
Its exceptional life-history has its
origins in 18th century soleras from
Domecq and 1970 and 1982
vintages from Croft.
It is categorised VORS and on average 32 years
old.
This is a unique wine, mellow gold
in colour with notes of bitter almonds and fruitcake on the nose, combining the
characteristic aromas and elegance of Amontillado with the complexity and body
of an Oloroso on the palate. Served
lightly chilled (14ºC) it is the ideal accompaniment to foie
gras, nuts, preserved fish, cured meats and fish and quiches.
