A wine of an unmistakable deep
iodine colour with tints of burnished gold and delicious aromas of dried fruits
(raisins, prunes and figs) and liquorice; on the palate it is sweet yet not
cloying.
Aged by oxidation through contact
with the air, it is more than 20 years old and is categorised
VOS. Its roots are
to be found in a 19th century solera of
Sandeman and Harveys.
We recommend that it is served at
room temperature or lightly chilled (16ºC) and is an ideal
accompaniment to dark chocolate desserts, cakes and sweets. It is an exceptional accompaniment to
creamy blue cheeses (Stilton, Gorgonzola, Tresviso, Cabrales) and is perfect
with strong, pungent Havana cigars. |
