Colour: Walnut.

Aroma: Salty seaweed tangles and menthol are the first notes to tingle the nostrils, before we discover sweet caramel toffee, chocolate and rich fruit and nut cake full of walnuts and hazelnuts. Nestling gently beneath the rich sweetness are hints of puff candy and diesel smoke.
Water opens the whisky revealing honeycomb and linseed oil, intermingled with peat and mellow wood smoke. Then the rich fruitiness of elderberries, tangerines and waxed oranges can be found briefly, before softening to chocolate limes, stewed apples and custard.

Taste: Rich and delicious. The initial taste is chewy dates, enveloped in soft peat oils and smoke, which leaves a silky coating in the mouth. Coffee beans dipped in a chocolate, Amaretto biscuits and treacle toffees emerge through the smoke to deepen the taste sensation, then suddenly tangy orange and lime zest bursts through with just a hint of black pepper and spice simmering in the background.

Finish: Long and dry with gentle smoke and coffee truffles lingering on the palate.
